I made this video because some people did not like that I have used pasta sauces from a jar.
I do make this from time to time, but find that the "jarred" sauces are actually quite good.
Ingredients:
2 Tablespoons butter
1/4 cup chopped shallot
1/2 teaspoon dried basil
1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
2 garlic cloves
1/2 teaspoon salt
28 ounce crushed tomatoes
1/4 teaspoon sugar
1 Tablespoon olive oil

Those cheap tomatoes are grown in California not in Italy!!!

You didn't need the butter or the onions, but you came very close to what the authentic marinara sauce really is.
P.S. The onions together with the garlic cancel each other out in the recipe!

Well yes, but not that much of a difference.

@freitasex If i use 1/4 cup of minced onion will it taste different if i didn't use the shallot instead??

Electric stove on medium, except when cooking the garlic... do the garlic on low to medium low.

Hi Michael, just wanted to say thanks for these inspiring videos and delicious recipes you prepare! There is something soothing in the way you explain, easy to follow, without the extra fuss and complicated methods you always deliver the best recipes videos on YouTube!
