That's an interesting pull. Those are some big problems that you listed. I would think most places would be replacing them soon if they haven't already.

They have these at Mercer County Community College in West Windsor, NJ as I have seen these Fire Alarm Pull Stations on Campus

I have one, except mine doesn't say local alarm. It needed to be fixed, as someone pulled it in a weird way and had the pull handle all crooked. I finally got mine working.
