There are ski tracks from the fence post in the foreground to the fence post in the background and Knifing will find them easily

  • This is knowledge is just an extra tool kept in your bag of tricks when tracking.  First you must have the subjects tracks already, tracking until you can no longer see the tracks due to snow drifts or subject entered the snow field while it was snowing. I could have used this when I was tracking snow shoe hikers in the snow and their tracks became covered during the snow storm as we gained altitude. This is a great tip to apply when all else has failed as a tracker. Bob Brady

  • Very interesting and potentially useful for SAR work. Could you be more specific about how it could be applied in an actual search situation?
