This chapter introduces the 1941 Republic serial with a visual introduction of the cast members and their roles. In this edited chapter version loosely based on the character created by Edgar Rice Burroughs, the story unfolds as to how the Jungle girl, Nyoka and her father ended up living among the natives.
Bless you for putting this on You Tube. I used to watch this on Saturdays as a girl, and I've been looking for it for years. Thank you for the thrill!!

The Clark Gable lookalike was Tom Neal, who was also a Golden Gloves boxing champion. Once he assaulted actor Francet Tone when he caught him dating Neal's girlfriend Barbara Peyton. Neal also played comic strip pilot Bruce Gentry in a Columbia serial. He would later be sentenced to a prison term for killing his wife in a domestic quarrel.

Francis Gifford was such a beauty, and athletic, and made some very good films later, it was a terrrible thing was left so bably injured after a auto accident in 1948, that left her with life long injuries. I love watching the cliff hanger again thanks. RIP Francis 1994, yes she was Frank Gifford's sister.

Having seen "Panther Girl of the Kongo" (1955) on TV as a kid in the '60s, it is funny to discover Republic simply remade Jungle Girl from the '40s. Maybe the name change was for legal reasons.
