Word selection from Tom Brokaw at NBC's Decision 2000 anchor desk on November 7, 2000 seems to foreshadow world events in subsequent years.

Of course, ever since supposed terrorist attacks occurred on September 11, 2001, the examination of what really happened on that day has been constant amongst both government officials and the general public.

And while it may reflect the realm where kooks and conspiracy theorists reign supreme, it's my contention that print and the electronic media where chockfull of indications prior to the attacks that in hindsight, belong in the prescient (a David Letterman word) category.

This video snippet from NBC News' election night coverage is but one example.

It was recorded on November 7, 2000, a full ten months before the world changed forever and America's sense of invulnerability was shattered on a routine Tuesday morning.

At the time, the next item up for international focus would be the 36 day election standoff about to develop between Democratic Al Gore and Republican George W. Bush over Florida's 25 electoral votes and the keys to the White House.

Of course, the impasse was bound for resolution in the U.S. Supreme Court, with lots of talk of pregnant, dimpled, and swinging "CHADS" from Florida punch card ballots to be heard along the way.

Cataclysmic terrorism was still something that happened "over there".

For what it's worth: Former NBC Nightly News anchor Tom Brokaw also says the word "pardon" in the clip, which in presidential politics, could evoke thoughts of Richard Milhouse Nixon, who was granted a pardoned by successor Gerald Ford after making dubious history of his own, as the nation's only chief executive to resign the office.

With his use of "pardon", did Tom Brokaw foreshadow another yet to develop event of the Bush 43 tenure?

  • Literally the dumbest youtube video I've seen in weeks. And that's saying a lot.

  • You're a good example of a dummy who thinks he's smart. You think you're so clever but to those of who actually are smart your video reads like a 4 year old sneaking and using mommy's computer.

  • HOLY SMOKES..I see a little piece of tomato skin near his neck...I remember hittin him with a nice ripe one in January at his INHOGURAL parade in d.c....I guess he didn't shower much back then...but then, what sewer RAT ever bothers with a shower!

  • Talk about grasping at straws.

  • Dr. Wen Ho LEE mentions FBI agent CAROL COVERT in “My Country Versus Me” while an episode of “Judge Joe Brown” had OHIO litigants MALLory COVERT vs. SCOTT JACKson. Public directories show a MALLory COVERT (b. April 1986) at 5245 OLGATE, COLUMBUS, OH 43220. Unrelated to genital ray beam attack: in MEMpHIS, Joe Brown presided over the last appeal of JAMES EARL RAY, killer of MLK. The “Victory For Humanity” ep. of CBS FBI drama “Without A Trace” has a working proTON LASER in Josh AbRAMs' classroom

  • 12/21/10 was 71st b’day of Dr. Wen Ho LEE—Los Alamos scientist tried for ESPionAGE who mentions FBI agent CARol COVERT in book, “My Country Versus Me”. DurHAM, NC’s WRDC-TV (UHF 28) aired a repeat of “Judge Joe Brown” in the 4 PM hour of 9/3/11—2,069 days after I purchased the book for $1; the day the 2nd eldest son went “down home”. The show had OHIO litigants MALLorY COVERT suing SCOTT JACkson. Unrelated: the STONE CULT or useless MALLS; mixing COLUMBus & COLUMBia; Army’s Ft. JACKSON nearby

  • When composing that “global elites may know right now” scenario on DEC. 21, 2010, I didn’t realize it was the 71st birthday of Dr. Wen Ho Lee, the Los Alamos scientist tried for espionage. I finished his book, “My Country Versus Me” on 8/30/11 in the early AM hours. I’m not a terrorist or “global elite”, but a fitting illustration of how patient those types have to be: I finished reading Lee’s 332 page book 2,065 days after I purchased it for $1.00 at a Save-A-Lot grocery store on Jan. 3, 2006

  • Dude we have cable now days you know.
