what a terrible theme!! Glad they changed it and made it a 3 hr tour...

@lordtonedeaf Yeah...she's got a nice ass too!

If you pause at 1:15, you'll see an American flag flying at half mast. A book I read told me that they were filming the pilot in Hawaii and this scene was filmed after JFK had been assassinated. And yes, I would love to know why the Howell's didn't have their own yacht. Because real millionaires wouldn't be seen anywhere in the vicinity of commoners.And yes it was originally a six-hour tour.

You wonder why CBS never aired this!!!
-
@PeterDavis963 Because it was originally a *six* hour tour. Didn't you listen to the weird Caribbean song? Sheesh.

@chuggachuggawoowoo Anyone under the age of 60 would not know the adult world of the 1960's.Never the less, they did not refer to Mr. Howel as Mr. Millionaire, just as The Millionaire and Mrs. Howel as Mrs. Millionaire. Possible I'm reading into this but did they not allow women to vote until 1920 with the passage of the Nineteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution. Mrs. Howel was 60ish years old when they filmed Gilligans Island. She would remember women's suffrage

@mrwebber35 That's not true. You're just another puppet repeating what you've had programmed into you. You're probably very young. You weren't there. I was.

I gotta say...the original "Bunny/MaryAnn" actress is SOFAKING cute all around, I mean...Dawn Wells was a cutiepie, but personally I think that blonde was wayyyyyyyyy cuter.
Oh, and 3 people are jealous of her.

@ibisjeff By the style of the song,the Pilot episode is referring that the 6 hour tour started from an Atlantic port,while the Series itself tends to refer the 3 hour tour is a Pacific port. Changed 3 actors,the title song,the length of the tour and what ocean they toured on.

I'm so f'n glad they didn't use this song...it SUCKS OUT LOUD!
I always wondered why Mr. Howell brought that steamer trunk full of cash for a "Three Hour Tour"!
