Phillip Island is fast and furious. In round 1 we see some fantastic racing of karts at well over 200 km/h! Check this out - great racing!

  • Hi!

I am in England, and I kart myself. I am just about to move up from TKM class (100cc, 15-20bhp, 70mph top speed), but should i go for superkarts? I want to do short and long circuits...

    Cheers

  • Depends a bit on budget. It is no harder starting with Superkarts if you start with a lower capacity kart. I would recommend investigating with your local superkart clubs and checking out the alternatives. TKM are a good starter class but easy to get stuck in to that, spend a fair bit of money and not realise that for not much more you can race long circuits...

  • mittong do you aussie guys run 125 ICC at Long Circuit? I race an Arrow kart in UK Long Circuit and fancy a run out in Oz.

  • I races a full season of it. Was quite good fun, especially Phillip Island, have to run in the open 125cc class but I was doing ok in that group, 4 - 5th....

  • Just a question, what sort of times do these guys do, say, in comparison to the GP bikes and V8's around the Island? Also, what is the average age of these guys? Are they young guys who are super quick, or older (Mid 20's) guys who can afford to finance their habbit?

I guess that is two questions.

    Cheers anyone.

  • It is around 1 min 33's - a Moto GP bike is a couple of seconds faster, V8 's are a bit slower... It is a mix of older and younger guys.

  • I raced the 1992 season in a 125...

  • Love these karts!

Awesome and passionate racing all the way to the end!!

  • Specifically the ages range from mid 20's up to 60! Superkarts are typically comprised of people who want to go really fast, for not much money - and thats it. There are very few (if any) Superkarters aspiring to race in other categories.

  • love the superkarts 250km seconds slower than the v8 supercars not bad love em top video

  • bout the same as we ICC UK boys do in the UK's, we run with the 125 Open guys but as our own champs, last year i finished 5th in 125 overall out of 20 odd, 15 of them were Opens!!!
