A photo satire of A4e, Emma Harrison and the New Deal program. A4E are a private sector company who have a government contract to run the New Deal program deal for the long-term unemployed in the UK. And What a waste of taxpayers money A4E is. No wonder Emma Harrison, reputedly worth GBP 40 million, is always smiling. The New Deal is due to be replaced by the Flexible New Deal program in October 2009

Is A4e Lincoln, comonly known as Stalag Luft 17, the worst office in the UK? Or perhaps it is scandal ridden A4e Hull? What about A4e Newcastle? What do you think?

A4E have an entry in The Urban Dictionary, which defines them as "an organisation whose sole purpose is to make jobless peoples lives a misery by boring them to insanity with yellow walls and hollow tasks in a fascist dictatorship of jobsworth failures

great video and now its all the more topical i was on these types of schemes in the early 90's and they were the same then a total waste of time and money...also the staff had the same attitude then as i hear they have now....total scam..they should all be locked up

@WELLBRAN Glad you liked the video. And people have been complaining for years about how crap these schemes were. Mind you, on the old Employment Training (ET) at least they gave you an extra tenner a week - unlike nowadays where they expect claimants to work for their benefits.

Anything that means A4e getting less money, or even the big E completely, would be very popular. I think government see hiving off as much as you can to the private sector as as a cheaper alternative to spending more money retraining Jobcentre staff and increasing their role in the so called welfare reform, which is all about saving money rather than improving services. Which of course, you would know already being at the sharp end.
