My ACL and MCL were torn by a goalkeeper taking me out in soccer. This is the resulting surgery, which actually turned out to be just a scope of my knee, seeing that it started healing on it's own.

  • @hububub46 Oh...are you a doctor? Cuz my doctor hasn't said anything like that, or that I should give up soccer. Actually, I'm in my 30s and 3 years after the injury everything is fine.

I obviously know the concern and the possibility of reinjury, but not sure I'm with you on your assessment that my knee is now shot and I need to give up soccer. Maybe if it hurt or felt completely off.

  • I used to have an arrow to the knee but then i got knee surgery and have returned to being an adventurer.

  • For all my peoples with knee pain stop feeling sorry for yourself.. thank Allah that things are not worse.IF YOU ARE NOT MENTALLY STRONG YOU CAN NOT BE PHYSICALLY STRONG.

Being healthy is a full time job .. go to the gym, eat healthy and pray to the all almighty.

  • @theeCRZAZL Only your doctor will be able to tell you if your clear to play. It will probably take more than a couple of weeks to get your knee used to the effects of working out,and playing sports etc. It's been three months, and I was just aloud to start walking on my knee with a brace, but we don't have the same injury, so you could be different. Before you assume anything go to your doctor and ask if you can play in 2 weeks!

  • @b0omcrashlove thanks, this has helped me...today i started off with a slow jog, and soft passes, and it didn't hurt, put an ice bag after i finished, maybe in a week or 2 ill be fit to play...do you think so?

  • @theeCRZAZL I tore my meniscus, and cartilage around my knee in a basketball game, and the doctor told me I'll never be able to play any sports again,so it is possible that giving up sports is an option. Also, you are right on doing very light exercises to keep the knee strong, but you should see a doctor so they can get MRI's and stuff and refer you to a Physical Therapist. I waited four months before I got checked out and kept playing on my knee, and completely destroyed it.

  • @TheeCRZAZL Just that don't rest it completely. You should be somewhat active. That may be just doing stretches (bending exercises), simple crunches (no weights), leg lifts lying flat, light stationary bike. Anything that is light and exercises it, even if it seems like it's real basic. You don't want to keep it straight and sit around for weeks. It'll atrophy and lose muscle (which around the knee helps keep it strong).

  • @blueionrich Ok thanks, that was a real relief you telling me this. I also forgot that he had also said it wasn't a ACL or MCL. I hope it it wont take more than 3 months after monday. Any thing you recommend while i just rest it? and thanks again

  • @TheeCRZAZL It could be a real bad sprain (twisted), or maybe an MCL. But i would guess he'd tell you. If he thinks you'll be good in 3 weeks, but you don't, just rest it some more. Start slow. Even tho my doctor told me I'd be ready to play in 3 months after my surgery, it took almost 9 months. I did light rehab/stretches first, till I felt ready to jog a bit, and then very low impact soccer. Finally got back to my top game. But for you hopefully not serious, but yeah, you may need more time.

  • @blueionrich Hey while I was playing soccer i passed the ball and when my left knee was coming back it landed wrong and i just heard a few pops like a tear or something, I live by myself and dont know what to do its been since December 27 i got the injury and i went to the doctor 3 weeks ago and said it isnt acl...and told me to rest it for 3 weeks, monday i could start light but i dont think ill be ready then, do you know anything that can help?

  • @RawChanneLife It didn't necessarily heal on it's own. It was just a partial tear, and what he's doing in the surgery was testing the strength of the ACL. Since he was going to graft a cadaver ACL on in its place, he determined the strength even slightly torn was probably better than a new one replacing it. So he's not mucking around, but tugging to see how quickly it rebounds. I think you'll need surgery of some kind.

  • blueionrich, Hi, I know she did mention this, just a couple cuts. What I don't understand is if it's just a tear, why doesn't it heal itself? & why do they re-tear it some more like in your video? Well to me, it just looks if though they're mucking around some more. It's actually been about 4 months since the "initial" incident. There is no pain when there is no activity. It's still difficult to bend. A year ago I switched to cycling from Running due to my back....now this. Thanks 4 ur input.
