  • I saw them at the old Filmore in SF. They were second billing for Free on a four night gig. I never had heard of them before. The organist looked and acted crazy in the best sence of the word, and the guitarist was simply on fire. The whole band was original. Five stars on a bit of my past memory!

  • Awesome post. Kudos to Lance98541. I saw Bloodrock live twice, once at the Fillmore East and once, believe it or not in a high school gym (Marist High School, Bayonne N.J.). Great live performers. A fantastic bunch of Texas musicians melding Texas feel with a proto-metal sound. These guys were way ahead of the curve and deserve more credit than they receive from some of the idiot posers around the internet who like to grade bands. Pickens on lead guitar, Hill on organ and Jimbo on vocal. Wow!

  • I lived overseas in 69-71 and played about 50% of Bloodrock's catelog. European audiences loved Americans playing their local venues, and we did lots of Bloodrock, Uriah Heep and Deep Purple. (We weren't your ordinary garage band...so you didn't ask us to play Jumping Jack Flash or Brown Sugar) The most requested songs to repeat were Bloodrock songs, expecially in Luxemburg. I now live in Plano, Tx, and hope to see the boys playing locally sometime.

  • Good old Texas Rock !!

    SWEET !!!

  • what a video...seems like i saw these guys as the opening act for Trapeze at Armadillo World Headquarters, Austin,Texas. Must have been '73 maybe.....
