This video talks about having a USB mixer in your home studio. Do you need it? Should you use it? What can you do with it? etc...

  • so, i can buy many USB mic and plug them in a USB hub then i can record at a sametime in Garageband , etc ?

  • @BNROEC NO! You would need an interface to connect several XLR miss. You can ONLY use 1 USB mic at a time with GB.

  • @GaragebandandBeyond at first, i'm not a miss, im mister, :P. so if i have an interface with 3 slots, what model would you recommend? and so, the 1 USB mic is also in a different channel?

  • @BNROEC That was supposed to say XLR mics. It was auto corrected... anyway

You can't use an interface and a USB Mic at the same time.

For mics I like CAD audio.

  • so, how can i record a drum track with separate channels? do i need an interface with 10 or 12 inputs? cuz io have the tc electronics desktop konnekt 6 with only 2 inputs and i'm going to start recording drums hopefully.

  • @ZickMusic You should probably watch my video called "How to record drums with 2 mics!"

  • @TheRevJonnyNemo Are you saying that my mixes sound tinny?

  • The issue is that buying an interface that handles all of the inputs for a set of drum mics can really be expensive. My mixer was 115$ and handles my set of 6 mics (2 pencil condensers, 1 snare, 1 kick, & 2 toms) very well. Of course the sound isnt the greatest as I can only EQ the overheads/kick & snare and the toms are plugged in through XLR-quarter inch cables. But It was cheap and sounds decent for the price. And on the plus side mixers can be used for other audio needs when you've upgraded!

  • what are the major equipment in simple recording?

  • @GaragebandandBeyond say you have speakers monitors plugged into you audio interface will you only hear the stuff you record or everything from your Mac

  • very clear , what is very important here is to get a very good audio interface that provide phantom power to your condencer mic. Thanks

  • Dude, you are awesome! thanks so much for sharing the knowledge

  • Thank I was gonna buy a cheap mixer, but what about a dj mixer it's alot nicer?

  • The proof is in the pudding. You can't argue with results. The Sunshine Superman stuff is rock-solid.
