I love how this is considered racisim. How come beating the crap out of one kid, by six, then getting caught makes it a cause du'jour? Why don't the celebrities read the facts about this case, educate themselves, then make an intelligent comment?

Let's preach respect, instead of hate and racism?

the reason the jena 6 jumped on justin is because a guy that looked like him kicked all 6 of their asses at a party because they called him a honkey and they jumped on justin because they thought it was him(they went to the same school)and the press tried to cover that up by saying he said racial things to him.i know this because i live 30 miles out of jena and go to school there now u can turn down my comment all u want but this is the truth

well i never turn down comments, I welcome all... tho some not so pleasantly... I do think all comments are worth being said cuz they either tell you more about the people or help to build on the story

And yes, both attacks are against the law. But they break DIFFERENT laws. Equality is NOT punishing people the same for VERY different crimes. YES they ARE different crimes and the culprits were arrested and charged in BOTH cases. Do some research. You are spreaing lies.

You have NOTHING to base that on.

ONE CRIME had mutliple people on an uncosncious guy and they had to be chased away. He was left bleeding and injured. The other was hit by one person and walked off on his own. NO INJURIES. NO WEAPONS. NO GANG ASSAULT. How can you POSSIBLY act like they are the same thing?

YOu twist and misinterpret perhaps evrything i said cuz nothing u said made any sense as a response to my comments. The Black kid was able to walk away from the incident because his friends helped him out. And as for the White Kid, who claimed to have suffered internal injury/internal bleeding, there is a lot of false statements made on his account considering that no doctor/ hospital can let a patient check out if he/she has internal injuries, whether or not they have family present.

Also, I'm not saying that the sentence WOULD have been 20 years, but that was the time range that the court made available to the jury, which makes it possible that it COULD have been 20 years.

You said "they were prepared to give them 20 years". That is what it is. You did not say they COULD get 20 years. You said they were prepared to give them that. Guess what? THEY STILL FACE THAT. 4 of the 6 were over the age. NOT juveniles. The 6th WAS a juvenile and charged as such. BELL was the ONLY one there was a question about because of his age and his history. Bell was offered 3 years with 2 suspended BEFORE any marches and he turned it down.
