Hear this 12/11/2011 at Songs of the Nations - Muaic unites us during Coventry Peace Festival. It was sung by the NIghtingales

Not from the North East of England myself, but I've one or two friends who are. That's a beautiful rendition of folk song from my near neighbours.

I'm slowly becoming a big fan, is there nothing you can't play?

@bonoyster Oh... many, many things! :-)

So, you're a Dransfield fan!
So am I - and a Geordie, to boot.
This is a most charming melody, and very well executed. Well done!

Yes - I first saw the brothers well over 40 years ago in York or Harrogate or somewhere like that. I've liked them ever since! :-)

Will,
A great number and well played. My great-grandparents met by crossing the Tyne by ferry, as they could not afford the toll across the bridge. It is a local love song and anthem, and you do it a great service. I had this played at a relative's funeral in the States as it means so much to our family.
Thanks.
