A multitracked version of a song I first heard on Robin and Barry Dransfield's great album "The Rout Of The Blues". I play mountain dulcimer, acoustic guitar in open D, and acoustic bass guitar.

  • I'm slowly becoming a big fan, is there nothing you can't play?

  • @bonoyster Oh... many, many things! :-)

  • So, you're a Dransfield fan!

So am I - and a Geordie, to boot.

This is a most charming melody, and very well executed. Well done!

  • Yes - I first saw the brothers well over 40 years ago in York or Harrogate or somewhere like that. I've liked them ever since! :-)

  • Will,

A great number and well played. My great-grandparents met by crossing the Tyne by ferry, as they could not afford the toll across the bridge. It is a local love song and anthem, and you do it a great service. I had this played at a relative's funeral in the States as it means so much to our family.

    Thanks.

  • Hi - thanks for the kind words - glad you enjoyed it and that it has dear memories for you. :-)
