Illinois is in worse shape. There is a story in our local paper today that the welfare payments can not go out because of a computer glitch. FOR 3 WEEKS! In the story they can't rule out that the state does not have the money to send my county for the checks! Also I talked to a CPA and he said the state has refused to refund businesses their taxes back. So he is advising all his clients not to send in quarterly payments anymore. This will create a choke off point for cash to the state and it will spiral down faster from there.

  • gunna get ugly in chicago soon,......real ugly......

  • @wilatemodel

I'm going to Chicago in the next couple of weeks. I'll take my camera with me, forgot to take it last time. It's already ugly there. I am really surprised no one is reporting here on this....guess I'll do it.

  • I already do that method. Hold it till it's due. I'm in Cook County. My kids came home saying teachers were crying at school. Our School district U46 fired 742 teachers Monday. We have a 10% sales tax here and property taxes are going up as our home values decline. I think this will be a rapid trend as state go broke with no revenue coming in. All part of the control plan I suppose.

    Elgin just fired 1,000 today

  • Hey "Big B".....If you are slow on work then do what I am doing. As crime rates skyrocket because of diminishing availability of welfare and food stamps I figured out a good way to earn a little extra cash. I have been installing motion sensor lights, deadbolts on doors, decorative bars on windows, shatterproof plexiglass windows, and I will soon start offering custom designed "panic rooms" for use against home invasions. The worse the economy gets, the better business gets. I hope this helps.

  • @1776Reborn Well, I live in Las Vegas and your comments could certainly apply here,(accept the 10% sales tax, but we're getting there). Our electric bills are going through the roof(air conditioning). Yeah, we're all going to be victims of the,"New world order".

  • @btaylor9661 It's not the unions that made wages unsustainable. It's the concentration of wealth, the Pentagon budget, the cost of maintaining over 700 military bases and prosecuting more than 3 wars simultaneously, plus the asinine bailout for the banksters who direct the course of foreign and domestic policy. When wages are depressed, domestic business hurts, because people won't have the discretionary money for goods and services, even more so with this crisis of unemployment.

  • Do you think there will be working people, aka refugees, driving with all their belongings OUT of the state, think of a reverse "Grapes of Wrath"? People seem to be fed up now and are voting with their feet.

  • What county are you in? im in Peoria county

  • @RennyGd yea i wish you guys would over throw your goverment! then you would be in better shape. I love living in canada cuz we didnt piss off england and we keep to are selfs god bless you guys right now

  • @dasani7998 Well, I'm not an expert on Canada, but I think what is saving you guys is that Canada has a lot of mineral wealth and a much lower population base then the U.S. So, I guess, that is your good fortune and more power to ya. The U.S will get through this problem, but it's going to take time. Cheers!

  • illinois /taxifornia...Tic Tic Tic.....

  • This teacher layoff is going to go like wildfire across the country. Unions have pushed government wages up to unsustainable levels beyound what taxpayers can afford. Tax payers are going to have to revolt an force the government to cut costs that have gotten out of hand for more than 30 years. Use to be the gvernment made less money than the private sector but no more.

  • Obama has you guys covered. You know he will be there for you or come to think of it you may have gotten the what was it the Olypics or something if he had not gone over and pleaded to get it.
