Interestingly enough, Fran Healy made the same transition, and quicker than Scooter, in 1978. Like Bobby Murcer a couple of years later, Healy hung up his tack and moved into the radio booth with Scooter, Frank Messer and Bill White.

Hers a great story on Rizzuto. I have a cousin in Scotland. Loved baseball, still does. We go to the stadium and we are getting autographs from him and other players. We tell the story about my cousin and he allows to come up to the booth and we meet Tom Seaver(my hero as Mets fan) who was broadcasting with him. And we watched half the game in the booth. And then he and Seaver were in a converstion about my cousin. Class act RIP friend
