Bet Lynch first appeared as a factory girl in 1966, reprising the role 4 years later becoming new barmaid in The Rovers Return. From 1970 to 1984, Bet alongside Betty and Fred was at the beck-and-call of landlady Annie Walker. Following the departure of the Walkers, Bet became landlady and married Alec Gilroy in 1987.
This programme, presented by Judy Finnegan, traces Bet's often turbulent life, from barmaid to landlady, from eternally single to married lady. Throughout it all, Bet's wit and charm made her a favourite to Coronation Street fans everywhere.
3:50 Bet's view on relationships is dead on!

Julie Goodyear was fantastic in her portrayal of Bet. I wish she would come back as a surprise new Landlady, let Steve run the cabs and own the pub but let Bet be the manageress.

It has been driving me mad as to who Norris Cole reminded me of and after watching this wonderful Coronation Street Collection about Bet I finally realized it is Alec Gilroy! Some of Alec's facial expressions and mannerisms, etc...just like Norris's.
