are they better than the ones you get at chinese stores. ive heard they are,, but this recipe seems so simple hahaha

The flavor may be slightly better than those in a restaurant; although the ones in my favorite restaurant here are pretty good :)

You do need the egg in this recipe because that is what binds the ingredients together. They do make an egg replacer called Ener-G. I think this would be the best replacement. Although I've never tried it, it should work the same :)
