This song is about perceptions of friendship on this world wide stage we're on here. Is it really real?

Queen Of The Northern Climes
by Ronald Haselden, July 2008
All Rights Reserved

I'm writing this in haste
So please forgive mistakes
Beams of light did intersect
To form a spot light introspect

And an Ocean lies between
Myself and the Queen
Of the Northern Climes

Cross-fire verses bob and weave
against these boundaries
Exchanges that both laugh and sing
Mean nothing, and mean everything

And an Ocean lies between
Myself and the Queen
Of the Northern Climes

We are close but do not touch
Sing and play and press our luck
Here upon this stage of light
Of transfer rates and copyrights

And an Ocean lies between
Myself and the Queen
Of the Northern Climes

Sometimes funny, often sad
She writes of things both good and bad
Star-crossed love and retrospections
Romantic flings and cruel deceptions

And an Ocean lies between
Myself and the Queen
Of the Northern Climes

Empathetic nobel eyes
Survey her kingdom's growing size
And within the din my voice grows small
Soon she won't even hear me at all

And an Ocean lies between
Myself and the Queen
Of the Northern Climes

  • Hi Ron, I could not see this video, but the lyrics are so wonderful. I like the way you express yourselfe in verses. I would not be surprised if you had written much more poems than songs.

    All the best for you!

    Anette

  • Hi Anette. I seldom never write words and music at the same time, so yes I have a lot of poems and pieces of music lying around :o) I don't know why the video is not available though. I didn't take it down. I'll need to check on that. I trust the witches and goblins didn't bother you too much last night :o) Talk to you later, -Ron

  • Hi again Anette. Its very odd about this video. It will play in high quality but not normal quality. Very strange. Anyway, have a nice evening. -Ron

  • Oh yeah, still sounds great....the melody is liquid- y...not too windy...

    I can hear those waves.

    Lovely melody.

  • Thanks Os. I used this particular tuning to kind of suggest the ocean. CSNY used this same tuning on quite a few of their songs as well. Talk to you later. -Ron

  • Wow, very original, beautiful lyrics, guitar and vocals dude. Your quite the songwriter and an inspiration to many of us want to be singer songwriters, including myself.

    Thanks

  • Hello siqouinm, and thank you very much. -Ron

  • This post-modern shakespearean minstrel singer-songwriter sounding material works very well...Spike, the great entertainer is dead, long live the great entertainer (hope that wasn't too lame, seriously digging this though).

  • How very beautiful. I hadn't realized you were such a fine, fine writer as well as singer/player.

I need to pay more attention. No really, I do.

    This is so very lovely!

  • This is great music Ron. Way to go. It's so cool.

  • Wow, Ron, your songs are simply awesome!

One gets hooked after the first one!

Will save this one to favorites.

Will return soon to hear some more.

  • More sweet melodic guitar work. I really like your voice in this one. When I listen to this it makes me realize how much I need to work on singing clarity. I can hear every word perfectly and it really adds to the experience.

BTW, as I was rummaging around in here I realized that I had subbed earlier. This has been remedied. :-)

  • Hallo Ron, I listened to this wonderful song on MySpace and now I could hear and see it too. The more I listen to it the more I love it :-)

Five stars for it and from now on it is one of my most favorite.

    Yours Anette
