North Miami, Florida is home of Florida's first Veterans Tribute Tower honoring Veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces

Highlights from the dedication of the new Veterans Tribute Tower on Nov. 11, 2008. The event drew national media attention and was a special time for our nation and communities to reflect on the sacrifices our veterans have given.

The tireless work and dedication of Mayor Kevin Burns, his entire staff, and city workers made this inspiring tribute to our veterans.

The four-day Veterans Tribute Tower celebration involved the entire community and included the on-site casting of the towers bronze bell. The North Miami community took part in an 'ingot brigade,' loading 500 pounds of bronze ingots into the 2200 degree furnace. The bell was poured, cast and installed on-site. Using The Verdin Company's one-of-a-kind "Bell Foundry on Wheels," a special on-site casting process, Verdin enabled the entire community to help create the custom bronze bell, and to experience the casting of the bell.

The Veterans Tribute Towers are built by The Verdin Company of Cincinnati, Ohio, and are being installed across the United States as a way to enable communities to honor and thank their veterans. For every tower built Verdin donates a portion of revenue to the Commission.
