It's a string. Go on thinkgeek's website, they even have a video showing that the "magic pixie silk" connects from the clip to the fairy. It's just a very thin piece of string, that's why you can't see it. Basically, I could understand this being entertaining for a day. Then you put it down and never pick it back up
