    I'm applying for mayfield and the financial lady said I have to be under dependent because I'm not 24, I'm 23 I have been living on my own for about 3 years. Why might be the reason why I'm under dependent?

    FAFSA is the form you fill out to become eligible for financial aid for college. You fill it out and then your school will tell you what you are eligible for. (i.e. grants, loans, scholarships) BUT, don't forget to fill out loan forms and scholarship forms for your school.
