  • Awesomee!! Best goalie ever! I don't care about how everyone thinks Brodeur's the best. Ok, he is great but then, look at his team?? He had quite a team. Unlike Roy in Montreal.. Everyone depended on him..

Plus: he has 3 Conn Smythe trophies.. How many does brodeur have? None!

  • @christof909 all there is to say is this

    Roy -- 4 cups, 3 MVP's 151 wins

    Broduer -- 3 cups , 0 Mvps , 98 wins

Roy beats out Marty in Game 7 to win the cup in 2001 ( also on MVP that year)

Sorry to say but this is Marty last year and just because he ends up with 60 or 70 more regular season wins than Roy it will never make him greater. Ever since Marty lost his all star defense crew back in 2003 he and the devils have never past the first round...even Marty will tell Roy is better

  • @MacroFuzzXD You're right.. Hasek is one of the best goalies of all time, along with Sawchuk and Plante. But I still think Roy is the best of them all. The way he carried his team when he was in Montreal was just amazing.

  • @6894samgem Brodeur is nowhere NEAR Roy but what about Hasek? I think he deserves to at least be in the argument.

  • Wow, Roy vs Broduer...how about Roy vs Gretzky, oh yeah, that happend in 1993. Anyone who thinks Patrick Roy sucks is an idiot. Brodeur is amazing, but Roy will always be the best.

  • @6894samgem You're right, Brodeur has no Conn Smythe trophies, but I guarantee you that without him, the Devils wouldn't have won any of their 3 cups. In '03, they gave the Smythe to Giguere due to his incredible performance in a losing cause (and I fully agreed with that btw) but the most deserving Devil of the Conn Smythe that year was Brodeur.

  • Patrick Roy Should play for montreal 1 more time ;DDD

  • I don't want to keep repeating myself, but I would like to say something to all the people who think Brodeur is better than Roy. WHY???? because he has 70 more regular season wins than Roy. You know what is really funny is that there is a nice huge fact that all you Broduer fans seem shy away from, and it is since 2003, 8 straight years ever since Brodeur lost his all star defence crew Broduer and the Devils have not advanced past the 1st round in the playoffs. Now that is funny.!!!!!!

  • @6894samgem I would say Broduer is a good solid 2nd. I think we could all agree. Like Roy gets 9000/9000 points and Marty has 8700/9000..you know? Close enough.

  • @polostarz 1 year later..Marty still in the net.

  • Seriously people, who cares about Marty's 600+ regular season wins? What matters is Roy's 151 playoff wins and 3 Conn Smythe compared to Marty's 98 playoff wins and 0 Conn Smythe. Judging by those numbers I think Brodeur's 5-iron has come to more use than Patrick's (as a remark to DevilsFreak17's comment).

Also, Roy won the cup in 3 different eras of hockey while Brodeur won his cups behind the same kind defence system with limited shots and scoring chances night in and night out.

  • You guys know nothing about Roy story...The real problem weren't the fans. He wasn't really having great relations with the head coach. Every single practice, they were arguing and screaming at each other. One day, he decided to get everything out of his heart by playing the game against Detroit which he did let in 9 goals out of 26 shots. Fans problems was like..10-20% of his problems.

The hardest place to play hockey is in Montreal, every movement is counted
