He was so well loved! Three priests? Were they members of the family perhaps? I don't think I could have watched when my mother was cremated (we are also Catholic but the Church permits cremation now). It was a beautiful ceremony.

@912alldaylong Not everyone lives the earth in a nasty way. If you have accepted Jesus into your life then your soul will be immediately transferred into your Spiritual body which Jesus Christ will give you based on your acceptance of him. Just like the Bible says. You will be watching them cremating your physical body in a powerful revived state. But if you dont have the spirit of Jesus Christ in you then your soul and body will suffer torment not just from the cremation alone.

Funeral rituals are very interesting. In Indian families the oldest son presses the button to start the cremation as formerly, he would put flame to the outdoor pyre. Catholics like these people were not allowed to cremate people till a while ago. This seems very sad, a young person... I lost my younger brother too. The parents never really recover.
