@gerrywildenberg this is all just tradition.. things evolve over time. the inability to evolve and grow with human understanding is to be dead. look at vatican 2. look at the council of trent and its reforms. women should be able to be priests, bishops, cardinals, popes if a man can. a penis doesnt make you spiritual. also, the whole church bigotry against gays.. about it being an abomination and no one being born gay is absurd. these are outmoded ideas. vicar not exactly with the modern times.
Hi Pastor Ray. I found Spiritus Christi on the Internet about 10 years ago. Though I live nearby, I have never visited and I wish we had something like this in my city. I recently visited their website and am glad to see them doing so well. Thank you for making this video and lending support to this unique church.
The argument concerning Mary of Magdela does not, I believe, support the idea that women should serve at the altar. The idea of a male priesthood to serve at the altar is based on the disciples at the Last Supper being male. I do believe, however, that the Mary of Magdela argument could possibly be used to justify women being able to preach in church, as she brought the Good News to the disciples of the resurrection.
It is believed that disciple, John the son of Zebedee, was present at the crucifixion.
As for the other disciples, if a man was to be present, he likely would have been arrested. The women, on the other hand, were allowed to observe from a distance provided they did not interfere with the punishment.
