@AngryIntellectual being of sound mind and being of a grown-up are very different things. A child cannot give consent to sexual intercourse, nor can a grown man assume that he can obtain such consent. It is against the law and against our conception of decency. Apparently you like polanski do not mind sex with children.

She was 13. No matter how you view it, any kid at 13 is of sound mind. I was, my friends were, everyone I knew was. By speaking of a kindergartener as a victim, you are misinterpreting the obvious. She allowed him to do it, according to her own account of the incident. Hell, she even said that the courts should have left him alone and blew it out of proportion.

And voting is something entirely different, which has very little to do with age.

@AngryIntellectual Sex with a minor is always rape, because the thing with minors is that they cannot give consent. Thatæs one of the reasons they don't vote, for instance. I can't buttfuck a kid from the kindergarten and say the kid din't mind. It's rape. The girl as a minor is irrelevant. Polanski was the only one who was of age (quite well of age - 44) and he engaged in sex with a child. That is rape, mr. 'intellectual'.

it wasn't polanski-polanski. he kind of had a bad day. it can happen to anyone. who in their forties wouldn't fuck give drugs to a child and then fuck her in the ass?

but the argument is, i guess: he is talented, therefore we should let him off the hook. that's asenine. and i love his films. and i am willing to buy that he was acting out of character on that occasion for whatever reason. but this is not something you can shove under the carpet if you have any decency.
