Played LIVE and recorded straight into Cubase 5 - ALL sounds/effects programmed by myself - reverb/delay + L3 courtesy of Waves.

The demo showcases the Juno's ability to put out classic arpegio's, brass, bass and amazing pads.

Classic Vintage Roland!

  • Those brass sounds are gorgeous. What are we hearing on top of the brass though? Is that a Juno-60 sound as well? Thanks for the video!

  • @rogerdp0 Both sounds are coming from the Juno 60 and were layered together. The timing is a little off because i played it live and in one or two takes. NO MIDI BABY!!!! Yeeehaaawww

  • @DIGITALSCREAMS That's great! I'm expecting one in the mail. Ended up getting a Midi sync for it as well. Have you done any syncing to your computer before? Curious how it handles.

  • @rogerdp0 My experience is syncing up old analogs to a computer is rather limited. I used to use a TR707 to trigger the Pro-One, Prophet 5 and Jupiter 8. Most of the time I just played the Juno 60 live.....it does help to improve your timing and playing skills.

Did you get a Kenton Midi to CV convertor?

  • What a brass sound , oh lord !

  • @leefuji

    I know....its crazy - 1 DCO/1 VCF feeding into a lovely BBD analog chorus.

If you were to make that sound on a modern day synth you'd be reaching for the unison mode +++++

  • LOVED that brass sound. The Juno 60/106 and even the alpha Junos are nice and warm.

    Even with 1 DCO.

    Nice video.

  • lovely sounds !

  • @DIGITALSCREAMS How did you programmed a drum samples or it's а stand-alone device?

  • How would you compare juno 60 and jupiter 8

  • I would like to add another compliment to this video because I keep coming back to view it. You have an uncommon knack in your programming and specifically that is when to know at the right moment to STOP adjusting the ADSR envelope, filter and resonance. That is in practice quite difficult because the natural tendency is to keep fiddling with it searching for that elusive sweet spot. Obviously, when you hit it you stopped and committed to that setting. That is actually rare.

  • Thank you for the ONLY video on YouTube that demonstrates the unique and wonderful qualities the Juno 60 has for making MUSIC! I say this because every video I have seen on the Juno 60 appears oriented to satisfy "gear lust" romanticism which to me seems incredibly silly. I am certain there are young men around the world who masturbate while watching those videos. However your video demonstrates possibilities and potential for the Juno 60 as a musical instrument. No sticky keys here.

  • If I'm not mistaken, this synthesizer was used by composer Dominic Glynn to create the version of the "Doctor Who" theme used during the 1986-1987 season.

  • nice

  • That arp is absolutely gorgeous. I need to own one of these now.

  • haha somebody gave you a dislike for making a decent synth vid..

    What a dickhead !!

  • incredible machine , the sounds incrediblly sound like modern , this is the magic of this vintage machines ...
