This is how this model Pagsta sounds with the stock air filter cap (plastic black cap found under the mesh end of the air filter housing). I have taken this out and havn't used it since. Sound is much better for my taste. Got the advice from Draedra 5 months ago. I have been saving so much in gas!

Thanks for the advice. Why is the plastic cover there in the first place when it completely prohibits air from entering the air filter? Sound is louder but more like a motorcycle. I have had so much pos feedback in person from this bike. lots of fun! Starting this mini has nothing to do with the kick stand for me. up or down doesnt matter. I tricked it out with LEDS and it looks good. Sik in a funny mini way. I dont like the sound from the front wheel maybe.Sounds electric dont know what it is.

I've been looking at these online and am tempted, but without an in-person test, my concern is that I'm only 5' 1". Would I be able to ride comfortably, or should I just stick with the less-cool-but-easier moped scooters?

lol i have in same theme bagsta bike:) but wheel is different(i have straight one) 2006 year. starting like a charm all the time.i removed back seat,now it looks more better.

no beacause the motor doesn't run with battery, it run's on his own

battery is only for electric start and for lights and so on

if you take the battery out does it just turn off if you you dont keep giving it gas

all of which you discribed is on a honda rebel. pagsta is a smaller version of that. unfortunately the frame on that bike won't fit a 259 cc. but it will fit a 100 cc engine or 92.5 cc.  it looks like a motorcycle, and you may even need a motorcycle license to drive one with a larger engine, but that doesn't mean it is a motorcycle. according to the rule books, the type and size of the engine whether manual or not says it's a moped.
