vacation to Newfoundland Sept 2003. Landed in St John's, travelled north to Fogo Island and south to St Pierre, France, Bonavista, Avalon & Burin Peninsulas . Hard to belive that there are a group of islands off the south coast of Newfoundland that were occupied by France to take advantage of fishing off the Grand Banks. they have a different culture and many do not even speak english. they use the Euro and prices are very high when converted to Cdn$. We have always wanted to travel here. The Burin peninsula is very picturesque, would like to spend more time in this region on a future trip.
