Leilani Neumann was found guilty of second-degree reckless homicide in the death of her 11-year-old daughter, Kara.
Authorities say she and her husband, Dale, prayed for the girl instead of getting her medical treatment and she died of complications of untreated diabetes in March, 2008.
@colourmegone HAHA well said. I wish we could just 'assign' Type 1 to people. I doubt I'd have it. IDK what I 'did', or "didn't do' as a kid to get Type 1, but it's an absolutely horrible, life-changing, debilitating disease. I'd love for the mom and dad to have it, be in DKA, and beg for their lives... And then have 'hands laid on them', instead of insulin therapy and IV fluids. THAT would be JUSTICE!

@growyourgardens Are you NUTS!?!? This girl, Kara/Madeline, died of Type 1 Diabetes/ Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA). I'm a Type 1 Diabetic (insulin dependent. it's NOT a genetic disease. It's an autoimmune disease and it's AWFUL). For you to say that this is just a ploy to get people to be 'forced' to buy medication and go see doctors proves how ignorant you are. I don't like saying that, but I couldn't believe your comment. I bet if you'd go through DKA, you'd change your song.

I wonder what his reaction would be if HE contracted diabetes. Would he REALLY trust in prayer if it were his life on the line?
