  • Nice man! Where did you get your partial capo? Also what tuning?

  • The partial capo was made with a full capo and a saw for metal.

    Practice tuning: F# C# E A G# B

    Tuning in video: A E G C B D

I use a different tuning for practice after breaking a couple of strings. :)

  • Andy MCkee would smash a guitar over your head while playing this song.

  • I would be honored to have splinters of one of Andy's guitars in my head. :)

  • Nice cover! Beautiful tone! What type of mic are you using? Is this more difficult to play on a classical guitar? Five big fat stars from me! Thanks for the vid! -Derek

  • Thank you. :)

The microphone is "Røde NT 1000". Pretty cheap and quality is decent for amateur stuff like this.

The reason I am not playing it on the western is, that the strings really need replacement and have a very bad tone.

  • Beautiful :) You learned it by ear i guess? Well done.

  • if you edited a tab, I will share you the cons of a tab andy mckee who might miss you, I have many. send me a private message if you're interested. best regard.

  • thank you, I try to work with this video, but it's much longer and less accurate: D your interpretation is very good.

    thank you anyway.

  • Sorry I don't have it.

You have to look at the videos. :-/ It is not overly complicated though. :)

  • hello, i want the tab for this wonderful piece of music. not available on the site andy mckee: / thank you for your help

  • that was awesome. well done

  • very good man I'm learning this as soon as i can

  • Røde NT1000. It's a good microphone, but you can get better and cheaper ones now. :)

  • Yes, I just watched the video and tried it out. I didn't find it too bad, but the thumb strumming is quite difficult and I haven't learnt it yet. ;)

  • (part two of this comment, sorry :D)

I'm not an expert on alternate tunings, but you can get different gauge strings that are comfortable being tuned to different nonstandard pitches, that way you wont be constantly breaking strings, which is especially bad during a performance.

Lastly, what kind of mic are you using here? It looks good, and also sounds pretty good :D

  • There's definately worse things to have in your head :D like a broken eye socket, and don't worry, I can't be certain but I'm confident that Andy isn't the kind of person to smash anything over anyone's head who doesn't deserve it.

And unless you really do want it, I don't think you deserve it, as this cover (I'm up to 2:20 so far) is fairly flawless, it's great that you just keep flowing with it, did you figure it out yourself?

  • Meget smukt :)

Jeg har luret mange McKee covers, og tænk at det var en dansker der sku' til for at gøre det absolut bedst! I'm proud to call myself a Dane now ;)

  • Well done!

  • That is the best comeback ever known to man xD. I too, would be honored

  • very well played man!!!

  • Wow I really like this version, because it's on a classical guitar. it gives a totally different feeling. the sound reminds me of Greece :P but it has a sort a' holiday vibe :) I like that.

the mic is very Veery decent!

the recording sounds really good :)

  • Absolutely beautiful cover, Anders. You've captured the FEEL of Andy's original song, which is the toughest part as any musician knows. BTW I love the classical gut-string sound, it's so pure. Great job.

  • i've seen ALL the Dependant Arising covers and this one is my favorite...not to take away from the others, but the nylon strings and the way you slowed it down...I LOVE IT!! Five stars, compadre!

  • Excellent cover of this song. I actually really like the sound of the nylon strings. Kinda sounds like an Ottmar Liebert song with those strings. I also like how you slowed it down a bit. Rated 5 stars.

  • good job

woulda sounded even better without the nylons
