In 2008 I became a single mother to four children. As you'd expect, there were financial hardships as a result of our separation and ultimate divorce. In April of 2009 I was ONE month behind on my mortgage and called to see if I could have that month's payment deferred. That call began 16 months of Bank of America loan modification hell. It is still ongoing. Even though I had only called asking for a month's deferment, the woman on the phone suggested I apply for a loan modification saying "it couldn't hurt to try." How wrong she was! As a result of Bank of America "helping" me, what was once only one month in arrears has swelled to almost $26,000 in arrears. And even though Bank of America told me repeatedly that they would not just expect me to come up with the arrearage amount should I be declined a modification, telling me there were other programs in place to help with the back due amount, that is exactly what they are doing. If I don't pay the $26,000, they will take my house. I made every modification payment early and I sent every document ever requested of me. I have 16 months worth of audio recordings chronicling the hell Bank of America has put me through. In the end, they are going to screw me and my four children out of our home, even though the only thing I did wrong was to follow their advice for assistance. This audio recording is just the latest in the continuing Bank of America saga. I will be happy to share more with anyone and everyone who wants to hear.

I am exhausted with the process and I am feeling beaten down. I am scared. I don't know where we'll go or what we'll do if we lose our home. We do not have any friends or family here. I have fought so hard for so long and am disheartened that it may have been for nothing, due to the incompetence of those running the Making Homes Affordable program. Please forgive my tone at times in this recording. I was shaking and on the verge of tears and, as a result, I am not always as eloquent or collected as I wish I could be.

(This phone call was originally over 40 minutes long, but I have removed hold times and dead air in order to shorten the call length. I have also silenced the audio in places where identifying and personal information was shared.)

What a sad sad state we are in when such a responsible, hardworking, and honest woman has 2 fight like this 2 keep her home w/ her kids just for 1 single puny fucking month!! How ludacris these banks are!!! 1 month payment missed by a woman that deserves her home even AFTER WE BAILED THOSE BANKS OUT WITH OUR TAX DOLLARS!!! PEOPLE ARE FUCKING OUTRAGED!! ENOUGH IS ENOUGH WAKE UP PEOPLE THIS SHIT NEEDS TO END!!

@lamiac2411 Thank you for your comment! It's nice to see someone else angry about it. I think more people should be angry. We bailed these banks out supposedly to help homeowners and prevent a complete collapse of the housing market. The only thing it did though was line the pockets of the bankers and lawyers. I think it's outrageous!

Supposedly there is a moratorium on all BOA foreclosures. I wonder why they keep sending me threatening foreclosure letters then? Got another one on Saturday.

I too have begun to record each and every phone conversation with Bend Over America. Each person I speak with gives me a different dollar amount due. Yesterday alone I was told the amount was $146 & later that day I was told it was $242.53. On Friday, I'm fairly positive I will be given yet another dollar amount. They call my house every day only to tell me that they can not assist me and have to transfer me. They even refunded me $200.33 (received last Friday) and yet I am still past due.

Get on the local news! This is totally ubsurd. They are doing the same to me. Call the president's office, get the emails off of Loan safe. Make a video direct to the head of Bank of America.

I have gotten in touch with the president's office and currently have an advocate in the CEO's office working on my file. She has assigned it to a new loan modification officer and she told me there is just "one more thing" I need to do to get the modification. The problem is that the woman couldn't remember what that one thing was. She said she'd call back when she figured it out.

It really is insanity. The whole thing!

This is pretty sad. You guys should keep your heads up though. Bank Of America is destined to fail anyway. You should check out their stock quote, it's garbage. Otherwise, bank locally. Home banks are sooooo much better.

We were told 2 days ago that we still had time and that our short sale offer was being "reviewed". Yesterday we got a call from our realestate lawyer telling us that we needed to call BoA right away...my husband spent all day on the phone with this shit hole of a bank and they sold our home on the courthouse steps even after they said we had time and that everything was okay! I hope all of these people get whats coming to them and I hope I can be there to point and laugh!

I went through the same crap with GMAC today!!..they transferred me to several different people then dropped my call while waiting to talk with someone else..Thing is I could afford to pay the mortgage I just want to reduce the interest..Its all pointless..so I am just going to squat!

She should of posted the letters with recorded delievery... means you have proof via the post office & you can track your letters were someone has to sign for them.... ALWAYS USE THE POST OFFICE..... TO POST LETTER TO A BANK!!! EASY
