This is a real news story. My buddy had a tumor, and we covered his story as he had it removed. This was a high school project, but we did it in a style of MTV's True Life. (2002)

Freckles in themselves are a type of melanoma, skin cancer, as can be warts and many other skin conditions most take for granted. Google it or us Wiki to find out all about just how easy it is to get cancer from really benign things.

you're right about the freckles not being involved with the tumor, but strictly speaking freckles are considered a type of skin disease. Dermatology textbooks call it Ephelides and they can be treated with hydroquinone, azelaic acid, or glycolic acid peels. They're just so harmless that they're almost never treated. This is really just a "useless information" comment, but I was bored.
