At the very end of the song does Billy say "D'Arcy you fucked that up!" I'm surprised through-out the tenure of SP 1.0 that those two didn't throttle each other. He always had a bee in his bonnet about her though- probably justified. But I'm sure that that annoyance helped fuel his writing in those peak years. And D'Arcy did bring something so unique to that band that no other female bass player could ever have possibly brought.....and the passage of time has proved that to be the case.

Pre-Gish the Pumpkins played this song in a number of live shows along with a number of other covers because they didn't have that many of their own songs as they'd not really been together that long. They played it on WZRD Chicago along with an excellent cover of Venus In Furs.

Why are we comparing this version to Type O Negative's version? This version was likely done in one take while fucking around in the studio. Type O Negative's version was actually intended to sound professionally engineered.
The sad thing... TON wasted their time, because their version sucks balls. Then again, everything TON has done sucks balls.

It's a decent cover but as stated, no where near as good as Type O Negative's version.

@BiPolarBears1 My favorite band is Led Zeppelin.

@badstormtroopa Who cares about a bunch of goth wannabe cry babies. Leave the 1990's behind. Stay in the 1970's when music was real!

@Bayview05 You think Type O negative was making a statement? Peter Steele didnt even consider them a real band. You dont need a statement to conclude that their cover is better than this one. All that the Smashing pumpkins did with this song was add distortion.

@badstormtroopa Oh is that what a cover is supposed to be? I missed have missed it on my read-through of the Musical Law Books. By the way, this doesn't sound like the original. The entire structure of a song doesn't have to be completely warped to be considered different - there is this thing called nuance.
And finally, this is from the Reel Time Sessions. They weren't trying to make some profound statement - they were using up some spare tape playing a song they liked. It's heard nowhere else
Type o negative's version kicks the fuck out of this one.
