@1Dudelove He doesn't activate a self-destruct sequence, the asteroids orbit had started to decay at that point.

PLEASE release this game! The SQ trilogy was a cherished moment of my childhood and I would very much like to relive it :D

I too can't wait for the release of this NEW Space Quest 2. It sounds great. A NEW remake of the old EGA version, except this time in VGA.

I'll take a guess and asume that this music was going to be for the end of the game when wilco activates the self destruct mechanism to blow up Vohaul's base and has to get the hell out of there.
Shame its not going to be in the final game...its quite intense.

You hit the nail on the head Dudelove. This piece was meant for that very scene. It was only taken out of the game because we have an additional music composer who is scoring the all the techno-asteroid environments, and I am taking all of the organic (Labion) environments. I had already recorded this piece before we divided the music work load in that way. There is talk that it might make it in the game after all, but still not for sure. Got to hear back from the big-wigs.

Nice work, it's a good sign if quality such as this gets rejected!
If I had to guess, I'd say this is where the Asteroid is falling out of orbit and collapsing. But perhaps- due to there being not much change in the music, just many variants of the same loop within the larger loop- this is a dangerous encounter with a Guerrilla, kissy alien or big robot. I imagine most of the other dangers would sound more ponderous.
Anyway, that was educational, thanks. You make composing look easy.

Glad you enjoyed the video - In a way composing comes easy for me, but only because of years, and years, of hard work, and dedication to music! But, I suppose you never really could call it "easy" . . . even if you can finish a piece in a few hours - a very intense few hours - very emotionally draining. But thank you for your interest, I must say on the other hand, garageband takes a lot of the headache out of these types of projects - great program.
