    I think the pickups make the biggest difference. Another thing is, that the octave strings are on the other side of the main strings, so on the ricky you hit the high string first...

    The pickups are P-94 right?

    By the way do you know the difference between P-90s and P-94s?

  • No, those are mini-humbuckers, like they used in the 70s les pauls.

    P-94s were a new take on the P-90s, they're actually stacked humbuckers, that are supposed to sound like singlcoils. Haven't heard too much praise about them, though.
