Wing Chun Training
Hello, this is Ben Jacobsen with the Placerville Wing Chun Club and I would like to talk a little bit about posture drills. We have seen with this drill that getting into your goat stance and having someone call out the movements to be performed is a good workout.
What this does is connect the body and the mind. When you are in your goat stance and someone is calling out the technique to be performed, your mind must work quickly to be able to respond with the proper move. This connects the mind with the technique in a very physical way. This is very important for understanding the true power of Wing Chun.
The Wing Chun connection between the mind and the body is not something that can be taught. Actually when a Wing Chun practitioner begins to make this connection, its a pivotal moment in their training. I find that most students, almost unwittingly, fight it.
