Well... Last week Ormond Beach received 30 inches of rain, and as a result, several trees fell in my neighborhood. One of them happened to be in my neighbor's yard, and they made a pile on the curb that was too big to be collected with the normal yard waste on Wednesday. Today, the International Grapple truck came to collect that pile, and here it is.

  • We have the same truck but it is a mack granite and it is much bigger and is used for BULKY WASTE

  • Wow seems like a lot of work! Almost is like the yellow paint on their trucks is more for fun, or just so each truck has yellow on it SOMEWHERE, rather than the original purpose of safety...

  • Yeah they have the properly prepared clause, but I've seen some massive properly prepared piles around here. I didn't see anything about special pick ups in there... but then again the contract is 30+ pages long. They have interesting things in there... like WM can be fined for not putting containers back properly.

  • Oh, ok. Here there is no limit on "properly prepared" yard waste, meaning in a can, bag, or manageable pile. For larger piles, you have to call and request a special pick up from this truck, and that;s allowed, I think, 2 times per year.

  • From what I just read in the contract, "There shall be no limit to the quantity of Garden Trash that will be picked up from each residence..." so I'm guessing WM sends a grapple when the regular truck can't pick up the material. Not sure if the customer is suppose to call for the special pick up or not... I've never needed the service.

  • I've just been lucky to find them in my area. I almost got another one on film... but it showed up while I was out for a couple hours.
