Always nice to play around with open strings, here the open D string and using notes from the D mixolydian scale on the G string.
You only get this sound and feel with a pick, It would just sound wrong with fingerstyle, therefore all you young bassplayers starting out: be able to play fingerstyle, slap and pickstyle, if you aim at being serious bassplayers that are able to cover many styles.

  • @R34PerRP7 It wasnt a lesson, just me playing.

  • pleease marlowedk tell me what distor are u using i want that distortion!

by the way, i hear a little chorus? or am i wrong?

a guge fan from Argentina! Juan Francisco

  • @jfdamiani I think it was a "Rat" and yes with chorus too

  • @MarloweDK oh man now I really want to get my rat fixed! I went to play my bass through it for the first time to find out last time i used it with my guitar i broke the foot switch. The tone you got with it is amazing. I'm using a bass big muff right now that sounds really good but not nearly as crisp as this rat does.

  • @PutzerLovesYou The Rat looses bottom end though, so you need an eq too if playing live

  • hey dude, you got some talents! nice playing, i like your playing style, man!

  • sorry if Im missing it but what distortion is being used?

  • WHat a bad ass sound. Inspired me.

  • lets kick guitar player's asses

  • @sasukeuchihalb I like the B strings the best, especially when its dropped to low A, but sadly my stock pickup at my Ibanez SR300 can't really handle heavily dropped stuff, actually, it's not really a bad pickup, but it sounded pretty flat, especially at low notes, I'm looking for a replacement PU right now, anyone had tried the Basslines Active Blackouts for bass(ASB-BO)?

  • @cyrusjerome I like the B string instead. The deep bass sound makes me feel awesome :I

  • Wow, amazing sr!

  • Bass players like the G string cuz it makes them feel like a guitar player :P

  • dude you're awesome

  • I normally never use effects in my playing, but when I hear this I think to myself "What have I been missing?"
