  • @sinimuna it's not just food, my friend. What he does as well as other chefs is make art through food. From making sure the flavors are just right to ensuring that the presentation does it justice.

  • @barkleysound Why? It's just fucking food.

  • @ninjajesus81 the honning steel is only bending the tiny bumps of the edge of the blade back into shape. and therefore the edge seems more sharp. but its not realy sharpening and residue does not come off.

so therefore a single wipe is what all shefs do and its enough...just to be on the sure side.

  • @CT2507 Lol yea, he also used to play professional football (soccer)

  • @toix48 didnt know that. but i would not be surprised. he seems like a guy who can do anything he sets his mind to do.

i know he runs some marathons once in a while.

  • @CT2507 You know his is a black belt in a martial arts, i dont know which but for sure he is one.

  • @kiheitek100 Yeah, that's what I thought. But I never see Gordon do that. I guess it just looks better to go straight from sharpening to slicing. He must be wiping the blade off.

  • @ninjajesus81 Technically, the definition of the word honing is to "sharpen." The honing tool is realigning the edge of a dull knife just what Gordon's doing in the beginning of the video. Since the edge of the knife is being shaped into a sharp edge, its common sense that there will be tiny metal shavings. So to be on the safe side, its best to wipe knife off before using.

  • I never really liked his "Hell's Kitchen" show. But on that show, Gordon proves that he really is great. Mediocrity is not even an option. You have to be superb. So far, all of his dishes I've seen him cook is God-like.

  • The chuck norris of cooking
