Aw cool! I have one that looks almost exactly like that, except it's a VHF/AM receiver. I've been interested in aviation for a long time and I recently discovered AirBand/VHF, so I ordered a VHF radio that looks almost just like yours (it's also Realistic brand!) and it works great! I forgot how much I got it for on ebay, maybe about $20? It also picks up AM signals. No FM though.

you kinda sound like Heath Ledger

Hey Wow!!!!!!!!!! I was given one of those back in 1994, it was given to me second hand, I no longer have it because the battery clip and arial broke. My unit was made in Hong Kong, but I knew someone who had the same model, exept their unit was made in Malaysia, at least that's what I remember, where was your unit made? I LOVE THE REALISTIC LOGO AND TYPEFACE. It's very easy to open the unit up as you need to do that to replace the battery.

The Realistic lineup had quite a few decently performing radios in it. For a dollar this is a great deal. And it's recent enough that it won't need recapping, which is a major chore. It seems particularly good on FM.

Thats a far better transistor radio than the new 2000's Sony that I just bought!

For someone who has a lot of electronics, you have very little interference in the AM band.

Nothings wrong with it at all. I have it sitting there from when I put some songs from 8-track to cassette.
