I know there's 2 versions of this vid online, but I wanted to make my own. I wanted to concentrate on the difference between MJ's golden era, to this era. Specially on the DEFENSIVE end.

I want you guys to put extreme attention to the ball denial, or off the ball defense. I want you guys to notice how MJ literally WALKED around the court, with little to no opposition.

I'd like you guys to compare that to some of my prior videos, in which he's constantly grabbed, pushed, elbowed, and handchecked WITHOUT the ball.

Also notice how late the rotations and help come, as compared to my other vids. Keep in mind that this NETS team was considered amongst the top defensive teams that season.

There's been some assertions that MJ couldn't play in this era, and that he wouldn't be able to play against taller, faster, more athletic defenders. In this vid, he's primarily guarded by Richard Jefferson who's known as a top defender, Kenyon Martin who's also known as a top defender, Jason Kidd known as a top defender, and Kerry Kittles known as a top defender.

Notice not just how easily he can get position, but how easily he can get a good shot off at will.

Pay attention to the "handchecking" in this era (or no handchecking) as compared to the TRUE handchecking from MJ's era. The "handchecking" played here is lame and one can easily beat it.

So while some may contend and point out that there was handchecking in this era as well, its a joke and pales in comparison.

Also notice how MJ works withOUT the ball and how even at an old age, he can still shake a defender with his footwork.

Notice how where he gets his shots from. He gets them from inside the 3pt lane. This is significant, since many proponents of the so called "zone" claim it makes it hard or even impossible for perimeter players, to get quality shots from inside the 3pt lane.

I ask those of you that have yet to see my other vids, to please do so in order to compare and contrast the two eras.

Did I forget to mention MJ was 40?

For those of you stat fans, please post comparisons between MJ as a Wiz and other young players. Some of you will be surprised to see how he fared vs today's young stars.

  • PAH Videos are dumb and are all about excuses. These Vid here are all about how Jordan can beat these Zone D and no handchecking and defensive 3 seconds which are really lame. Great VID

  • I'm sure he'll make a vid trying to show how much Kobe gets manhandled. He'll combine clips from different games saying.."Some say Kobe doesn't deal with physical defense, but that's just not true. Kobe goes up against physical defenders more than anybody in the history of the world." And even those clips will be a weak excuse.

  • The 2nd part will be up tonight or early tomorrow. Depends on my mood.

  • I just finished annotating, you might wanna watch it again. Thx for replying tho!

  • To put Icing on the Cake, Jordan took this Washington Wizard Team who's record was 19-63 in the 2000-2001 season to an 18+ winning improvement the next year in winning the total amount of 37 WINS!!! So their record was 37-45 (same in 2003) and that's against this "very scary zone defense" as the Homer supposed LOL

  • Great job u done!!! Tks!! Hopefully more like this kind of vid u will post at here!

  • Where are all the Kobe homers.Nowhere to be found.Youtube is overrun by Kobe fans they never watch his bad games. On my channel I have the Jazz vs Lakers it has very few views but the Pacers vs Lakers win has many views this is biased.I watch all Jordan games even the ones he lost because there is a lesseon behind it.I equate todays NBA the same way rap music is now they made it easier to score just like they made it easier to say a rhyme.Kobe is the Lil Wayne of NBA Jordan is the Notorious Big.

  • Along with his nasally voice, its like come one dude grow a pair you know. He'll also make up another fact like "Jordan never faced teams that were as physical as current players" Slap in the face of the Bad Boys, Knicks, Pacers, CAvs, Heat and every other team he faced.

  • Jordan can break down any type of D period. Whether its zone, 1 on1, trap, full court press, or physical he can dissect it, and tell his teammates thus making them smarter players against any type of defense. Dont believe me then i ask this:what team in the 90's wanted Kerr, Wennington, Buechler, Brown. Yes they were on the team in 94 except brown, but who taught Scottie how to break teams down and how to read defenses.

  • 40 year old MJ can average 20ppg. Ye you see now how tough is this "zone" era.

If MJ had 15 year less he would destroy this league.
