86 F350 CC 91 12V cummins swapped and mated to a ZF5. this is my project truck will be painted and the inside will all be redone. injection pump has been bumped up. has a ss exhaust looking to move up to 5 inch.

I would like to try hard wood and then put the ford logo in the back by your feet in the wood.

  • why not a stroker in that ford the 12v cummins sucks

  • @lowwgan123 you can go put what ever you want in your truck. and you can go buy a 80's diesel and take it to a truck pull, I will bet you pinks that you will get walked all over... the 6.9 and 6.2's where POS. play nice

  • how hard is it to match a 12v and a zf5...ive got a zf 6 but im savin it.. thanks

  • @rthknights5 dude the ZF6 is what I want to get really bad! Its not hard if you get the adapter plate and everything. you can go through Destroked or ford cummins or else some people will sell them on e-bay used and its a little cheaper. hard part of it buying them use normally some of the bolt holes are stripped and need to be tapped with a heli coil

It also depends on what gen. you use, on the 70's you need to cut , 80-97 you dont have to cut anything in the engine bay.

  • Any more progress on the build?

  • @dhpt99 I'm building a heavy duty bumper, I bought my dads f150 so im getting the buckets and the dash and some other stuff out of that. I also am making a head ache rack that will hold chains like semi's have. hopefully my Denny T fuel pin will be here soon. I also got some new tires and rims on it... I'll post a new one in a few weeks.

  • @mornin151 I agree with the 6.2 beeing a POS but not the 6.9. Compared to turbo diesels, the 6.9idi lacks power but it makes up for it with reliability. I cannot say the same for the GM 6.2idi. All the 6.2 was good for was MPG.

  • I have and 84 1/2 ton that i wanna put a cummins in. Did you have to do any fire wall mods to get the motor to fit?

  • sweet.. i love these old fords.. my uncle has a 1978 ford regular cab flat deck 1 ton dually with stacks it originally had a 460 in it but he swapped in a cummins diesel.. its not the fastest thing on the road but man can it pull.. it'll pull 250 bales of hay with no problem and once you get it moving you dont even feel it behind the truck.

  • @mornin151 Bad ass , subscribed and looking forward to seeing it. Once im done with my projects i want to restore an old 4 door diesel
