Far more often than any of us would like, questions of foreign policy and national security come down to the choosing the lesser of two evils. We are not here to debate whether or not Iran should have nuclear weapons, or how to prevent it from happening. We are here to debate what to do if and when they do acquire such weapons. A nuclear-armed Iran would fundamentally change how we view the country and the region. We will no longer be able to write off Irans threats toward Israel as vile but empty. There is also the danger of weapons falling into the hands of terrorists or other regimes trying to acquire nuclear weapons. Responsible leadership cannot allow this to happen. The risks of action are great; the risks of inaction are greater.
