WaySouth Media cameras went to a Women for Obama-Biden rally in Decatur, Georgia on Saturday Sept. 20, 2008. With polls showing McCain ahead in Georgia (as of 9-18-08) in the overall population of likely voters, and the Obama campaign not purchasing paid ads in Georgia, for the time being, the focus for the Obama campaign remains strong on grassroots efforts - especially registering new voters by Georgia's Oct. 6, 2008 voter registration deadline.
The same polling (by InsiderAdvantage/Poll Position conducted 9-18-08) shows likely Georgia women voters favor Obama by 16 points over McCain.

Obama lost Georgia by only 5 points which was a significant improvement from 2004. The problem is that he struggled with white voters only 23% voted for him. He needs to get around 30-35 percent. Blacks make up 30% Hispanics make up 9%

Why no presence or rallies now, though? I was going to the one planned for downtown at the capitol, but it was cancelled, and the one in Mableton was a joke. Sure wish there would be a big rally this last weekend in the Atlanta area. Even without the candidates, it would be great just to get together with some more Obama supporters!
