One of the more exciting moments for Taz and I was getting to run in the very first ESPN Great Outdoor Games. We were thrilled to take home the bronze medal, although one more step on the Aframe and we would have taken gold! Agility definitely is a sport of inches and seconds. It's funny listening to the commentator, she reminds me of a female John Madden with her inane comments, but at least they were positive ones about us!

It was a bit difficult for me to upload this as I've since lost over 130 pounds and it's hard to believe that person is actually me! This was all about Taz though and wanting to show off how incredible he was, particularly all these years ago when he was still so fast and hadn't started to slow down yet. I was always trying to retrain those contacts and get them faster, so half the time he didn't know whether to stop or go or what I wanted! So we definitely went through a period of time around then where they were a bit more inconsistent than typical for him. When he knew what his job was, he would seldom make a mistake!

  • Was that Dana Frick at 2:06? I recognized her because she always likes to howl with her dogs.

Great to see all the dogs I used to watch when I was like 7 or 8. I knew all about you guys.

  • Yup, that was indeed Dana. Glad you enjoyed the clip (poor video quality and all!)

  • Wow she's almost better than my dog U_U

  • Great fun competition--don't know who likes it more--the dogs or the people! It's funny when they have to make the dog sit still for a few seconds in the middle of the race. And then he's shaking with nervous energy, waiting to go again!
