@Thesnuttan52 Jussi is my home God. With full respect all other singers. The duets with Merill, especial from Don Carlo, take the soul. Samma på alla spräk.

Again, a brilliant career cut too short.

NON C'È DUBBIO, UNA DELLE PIÙ GRANDI ESECUZIONI DELLA STORIA DELL'OPERA PER LINEA DI CANTO, FLUIDITÀ, ESPRESSIVITÀ, COMPLIMENTI

@yogi1940 The hairs on the back of the neck stands up, when I sometimes hear Jussi and Merril.

I think there's a guy going around disliking stuff that has no dislikes just for the heck of it.

@anders4life No, I don't think so. He may have started as a baritone--I believe he studied with a celebrated baritone. Nevertheless, he's a perfect tenor. His voice is higher than, say, Caruso's. If you listen to him singing the Pearl Fishers Duet with the baritone Robert Merrill, you'll notice the difference in depth between the two voices.
I'm surprised that several people have responded to my silly litle comment.

I googled "Smooth" and it brought me here.

@ajjle I adore Schmidt, but Bjorling along with Caruso is a nonpariel. The natural gift is unquestionable, but what he adds to it with skill, musianship, and sensitivity makes Bjorling unmatched.
