An interview with Dr Ho in Yuhu, Lijiang, Yunnan 云南 丽江 白沙

This is a short video of a visit I made to Dr Ho in the Naxi village of Yuhu, near Lijiang. This is the village where Dr Joseph Rock lived in the 1920s and 30s (then known as Nguluko). Dr Ho knew Joseph Rock when he was a boy and claims to have learned English from him.

It's called Qing-Zang Gaoyuan ("Tibet-Qinghai Highlands") - don't know the singer, sorry. Got it off a cheap CD of Tibetan cover versions in Lijiang.

I went to Lijiang Dali and Dr Ho before the Lijiang airport was built. Interesting to see that it is still pretty much the same (Lijiang). Dali with its westernized menus, books etc was a great experience after the ancient Lijiang but one of the absolutely most fabulous experiences I had during the 8 months stay in Asia was right outside Lijiang - I rented a bike a took it 20km or something to a little village with horseback trips and local people there taught me a song (in Naxi?) I still know.

and the singer is named lina（李娜）, beautiful voice and great song.
