I wrote an ACTUAL SONG. NOT for a school project!

Alright, well actually, I kind of adapted it from a poem...that I wrote for school...but that poem was derived from lyrics I was writing anyway.

Yeah, it's girly and poppy and generic. But it comes from the heart.

I want to catch your words like a dove
Keep them in a cage close to my heart
They can sing me to sleep in the quiet and calm
To keep you near when we're apart

And I know you don't mean it
But you're breaking me slowly
I know you don't want me
For more than my kiss
And I look in your eyes
Full of deceit and your lies
But I can taste my name on your lips
And I'm yours

You tell me that I'm beautiful
Well, I could say the same to you
To my favourite eyes and playful smile
As bright and warm as the sky is blue

But how bittersweet the words do taste
They bite my tongue like spice
But they fill my heart with so much joy
That I'm willing to pay the price

And I know you don't mean it

I can only lie awake and dream
And wish upon that sparkling star
