I hear you alerma84. El Paso, Texas for example, is like a different planet from Bangkok. It's dry, arid, lacking in culture and things to do, whereas Bangkok is the complete opposite. I know, as I'm from Bangkok and have spent time in Texas. What I can't understand is that there about 100 Thais living in El Paso who really should consider moving back to the best and most exciting city in the world, Bangkok, my hometown.
