Luciano wrote in his first autobiography that he had a dream to sing Don Jose on stage and he also wanted to sing Werther on stage.
It is a pity only recordings of the arias survived. I kind of hoped that DECCA might have a surprise or two to release toward Luciano's 75th birthday, but it seems we will never know how he could've sounded in both roles.
I think I just had an eargasm...
